Environmental Policy
Orwelco (Barrow) Ltd is fully aware of its environmental responsibilities and practice a policy of continuous improvement and full compliance with environmental regulations, in a spirit of openness towards staff, customers, local authorities and administrative bodies.
Orwelco (Barrow) Ltd’s environmental guidelines are as follows:
• We integrate environmental aspects into our day to day operations and perceive environmental protection as an opportunity, not as a threat.
• We assess the environmental impacts of our products and services at all stages.
• We aim to minimise our environmental impacts and to avoid transferring the burden to other stages in the product lifecycle, before or after the stages of our operations, as far as is possible given technical and economic conditions.
• The companies environmental impacts are reviewed and evaluated by regular internal audits when the relevant section (6:4) of ISO 9001-2000 is covered.
• Environmental issues are considered with regard to reinvestment and Company development.
• We evaluate our approved suppliers taking into account environmental issues and also try to increase the environmental awareness of our suppliers.
• As we provide our employees with information on important environmental issues on an ongoing basis, we enable them to develop their level of awareness enabling them to act in an environmentally responsible manner.
• We expect all our employees to comply with the Companies environmental policy.
• We have an open information policy, which gives not only our business partners but also other interested external parties a good overview of our environmental activities and the environmental impacts of our company and activities.
• We comply with environmental legislation and are committed to taking into consideration any future legislative developments.
